About Neighbours Every Day

Neighbours Every Day is Relationships Australia’s national campaign promoting social connection and respectful relationships. It builds on the legacy of Neighbour Day and encourages individuals, communities, and organisations to foster a culture of care and inclusion – every day of the year.

Relationships Australia uses this campaign to:

• Promote the importance of respectful relationships
• Build capacity for connection across Australia
• Share research and evidence on ending loneliness
• Engage like-minded organisations and communities
• Celebrate and grow everyday neighbourliness

The role of a Very Neighbourly Organisation (VNO)

By joining as a VNO, your organisation will be acknowledged for its commitment to social connection and neighbourly values.

To qualify, a VNO must:

• Be a community organisation, business or government body
• Share the values of Neighbours Every Day and Relationships Australia
• Actively support and promote connection and resilience in communities

What You Can Expect

As a VNO, Relationships Australia will:

• Acknowledge your organisation on the Neighbours Every Day website with a short description and a link to a relevant, community-focused page on your website
• Announce your participation on social media
• Provide opportunities to share your community events on our Neighbours Every Day events listing and map
• Invite you to quarterly online VNO meetings to connect, share, and collaborate
• Share insights and outcomes from the campaign each year

Your Commitment as a VNO

We ask that you:

• Share Neighbours Every Day messages and values within your networks
• Promote the campaign and its annual call-to-action event, Neighbour Day
• Tell us a little about the activities you plan to undertake (or already do) that align with Neighbours Every Day
• Take part in our short annual VNO survey each April to share what you’ve been up to, including images where possible

Using Campaign Materials

You’re welcome to use Neighbours Every Day and Neighbour Day materials in your own communications (with attribution). We’ll also share relevant content via our e-news, social media and blogs that you can re-use.

Please follow our brand and usage guidelines, and don’t do anything that would bring Relationships Australia or the campaign into disrepute. We’ll do the same in return.

Important Notes

• There’s no funding commitment required
• Relationships Australia may share your submitted content in reports and promotions
• You confirm that you have the appropriate consents to share any images or materials with us

Duration & Review

Your participation continues from the date you agree, with a review every two years. You or Relationships Australia can end this agreement at any time with four weeks’ notice.
